Victoria Named Among Recession-Proof U.S. Cities
Is a recession on the horizon? A recent survey by Duke University of CEO's across the country seem to think so, around half think by the end of this year, but as many as 82% think by the end of next year. There are some U.S. cities that may be better places to be if the recession does hit, and according to Livability.com, Victoria is one of them.
Using statistics from Zillow and the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, we have good reason to stay positive.
The report shows Victoria as the 4th best city in the nation to survive a recession with an unemployment rate of only 3.6% and a median home price of $188,250. Named in the article as 'a hub of the Texas energy sector,' Victoria is home to some big employers including Caterpillar, Formosa, Invista, and DuPont. The city is growing, too.
