Victoria Police Department Swears in 5 New Officers
WELCOME TO THE FORCE:
The Victoria Police Department has sworn in 5 new police officers at a recent ceremony. The new officers must now complete a 16-week field training program alongside field training officers. After successfully completing this program, they will patrol the city streets and respond to calls for service independently. (L-R) Ever Sanchez, Paul Higdon, Aaron Baylor, Henry Ybarra, and Sampson Holt were sworn on June 29.
VICTORIA POLICE DEPARTMENT TO HOST COMMUNITY MEETINGS:
The Victoria Police Department is hosting two community events during the month of July. The first meeting will take place on Thursday, July 15th at F.W. Gross and will be open to all citizens who live south of Airline Rd. The second community meeting will take place on Thursday, July 22nd at Holy Family Church. Both meetings will start at 6:30.
WHAT IS GOING ON IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD?
Here is a chance to learn and ask questions about what is going on in your neighborhood. You will also meet the zone officers that patrol your neighborhoods as well. DRIVERS EDUCATION FOR OUR YOUTH:
Children will get to learn about traffic safety through hands-on activities and discussion with City of Victoria Municipal Court Judge Vanessa Heinold when the court hosts an educational event on July 17 at the Children’s Discovery Museum. The come-and-go event, part of the museum’s Scientific Saturday series, will be 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. July 17 at the museum, 1205 Sam Houston Drive.
