Victoria Was Very Different the Last Time the Cowboys Won the Superbowl
As always the Dallas Cowboys did what they do best and that is not win in the playoffs! Not only did they lose but they lost in grand fashion. Stephen A Smith is right, the Cowboys are an accident waiting to happen. Keep in mind, I am a Dallas Cowboys fan. I am not even going to mention that last play call with 14 seconds, we all saw what Patrick Mahomes did in 13 seconds. Maybe next year, will be our year? Eyeroll!
With that loss, all the Cowboy haters came out ready to throw shade. Most of the posts had to do with the Cowboys fans living in the past, referring to their last Super Bowl win back in 1996(SUPER BOWL XXX). The drought continues! I have also seen a lot of posts about how different the world was back when the Cowboys won their last Super Bowl title. So I thought it would be fun, the do a Victoria edition. Check out the fun list below...
THE LAST TIME THE DALLAS COWBOYS WON THE SUPER BOWL...
IT WASN'T HEB-PLUS IT WAS SUPER K-MART
Yes, we used to have a Super K-Mart with the before it was demolished to make way for HEB Plus. If you really want to take it back, the original K-Mart was located where Lacks currently is.
OUR RIVALRY WAS ON ANOTHER LEVEL
The Victoria Stingarees and the Stroman Raiders were Crosstown rivals and those games were on another level
WE HAD AN EPIC POOL HALL
Who remembers heading to Barney's Billiards? It was the biggest pool hall that Victoria had ever seen. I loved the vibe there, it was always so chill.
YOU SAW BROTHER GARY EVERYWHERE
Wait that is one thing that has not changed. LOL
YOU HUNG OUT AT A SONIC THAT NO LONGER EXISTS...
At some point on a Friday night, you hung out at the Sonic that used to exist on Navarro before cruising up and down Navarro.
YOU COULD GET A MOUNTAIN OF NACHOS AT THE MALL
Chelsea Street Pub was a perfect way to get your night out started with a great drink and of course, that Mountain of Nachos!
THE DANCEHALL SCENE WAS POPPIN'
Whether it was The Rhythm of the Road, the Emotions, Joel Nava, or High-Speed Hayride, there was always a place to get your dance on every Friday and Saturday night!
YOU SMELLED BREAD AS YOU DROVE DOWN LAURENT
That smell coming from Mrs. Bairdz Bakery was absolutely amazing. Not to mention the day-old bread store right behind the bakery.
YOU COULD TAKE IN A MOVE FOR A DOLLAR!
Ah yes! The good old days of the Playhouse Theatre.
Just a fun list for all my Victoria peeps! GO COWBOYS LOL!
