Evan our co-worker shares with us her experience from yesterday evening:

On my way home after dinner with my sister I found I needed to take a small detour.  Vine Street is filling with water.  Thankfully I had a full belly and wasn’t in a rush.  After considering asking the turtle for a ride I saw drifting along I decided not to take the risk and drive around the rising water.  I got home a few minutes later but I made it home safe.  It’s not just Red River and Vine that are filling quickly, water is covering Nueces and Bluff too.  The river is going to continue to rise.  It is expected to crest Friday afternoon.  Don’t forget that Riverside Park including The Pump House are closed until further notice.  Remember to be safe and just turn around.  It only takes two feet of water to sweep a vehicle off a bridge or highway.
