While Victoria is in great shape with 3 different Sonic locations, South Texas is going to see some new locations opening up in the Rio Grande Valley giving those of us headed to Padre or the McAllen areas some chances to cool down with some yummy Sonic treats.

The new locations offer a new look as Sonic chains feature a new design and a new look inside and out. The drive-thru lanes are actually a bit wider, the signs all look different, and they are installing patio areas for guests who don't want to sit and eat in their car.

The video above is from the new location opening up in San Juan, Texas tomorrow. It's sitting at 207 W FM 495 in San Juan.

This is the first sonic to open in the Rio Grande Valley and seems to be the first of many new locations coming to South Texas. It's the first time Sonic has planned much of anything in the Rio Grande Valley in the last 18 years so it's a big deal to the summertime crowds and the local communities looking for good jobs for their student workers.

SONIC franchisee Al Trevino told ValleyCentral.com that "We are eager to welcome guests to our San Juan Drive-In and the 13 others to open in the next several years.”

Many of the new Sonic locations will be open 7 days a week 6 AM to 12 AM.

Maybe we will see a makeover come to one or all of our Victoria locations soon. The new-look definitely seems to say 'cool treats'!
