A Texas high school track meet murder has taken an even more devastating turn as heartbreaking new details emerge from the victim's father.

On April 2, 2025, students gathered for a UIL Championship track meet in Frisco, Texas, an event meant to showcase athletic talent and school spirit. Instead, tragedy struck when a teenage student was fatally stabbed.

Firsthand accounts paint a horrifying picture.

According to Frisco police, despite immediate lifesaving efforts by first responders, including CPR and the administration of blood, the 17-year-old victim, Austin Metcalf, did not survive.

His father, Jeff Metcalf, revealed that Austin was stabbed in the heart after a dispute over a seating issue. He stated that his son didn’t even know the attacker, who allegedly reacted violently after being asked to move.

What makes this tragedy even more gut-wrenching is that Austin’s identical twin brother, Hunter, was there to witness it all. Hunter not only saw his brother get stabbed but desperately tried to stop the bleeding.

“They were twins, identical twins, and his brother was holding on to him, trying to make it stop bleeding, and he died in his brother’s arms,” Metcalf said.

Jeff Metcalf rushed to the scene, where he saw his son on a gurney, covered in blood, "I could see all the blood, and I saw where the wound was...this is murder.”

Metcalf also questioned the parents of the suspect, “I’m not trying to judge, but what kind of parents did this child have? What was he taught? He brought a knife to a track meet and he murdered my son by stabbing him in the heart."

According to FOX4 News, 17-year-old Karmelo Anthony was arrested for the attack.
