16-Year-Old Stabbed and Killed at Texas UIL Track Meet
What started as an early morning high school track meet in Frisco, Texas took a horrifying turn when a 16-year-old student was stabbed and killed right in the middle of the event.
Around 10 a.m. Wednesday morning a UIL championship track meet was being held at Kuykendall Stadium a UIL. According to police, 2 students got into an argument when one of them suddenly pulled a knife and stabbed the other.
Paramedics and first responders quickly responded and began life-saving measures for the stabbed student. They did CPR and even gave blood transfusions but sadly it wasn’t enough. The victim, a student from Memorial High School, didn’t make it.

The suspect, a 17-year-old student, was arrested on a murder charge and taken into custody. Police haven’t said what led to the attack, and his bond hasn’t been set yet.
As soon as the stabbing happened, school officials shut everything down. The meet was canceled, the stadium was locked down, and students were sent back to their schools. Parents got an email breaking the news.
UIL, the organization behind the event, put out a statement: “UIL is deeply saddened by the tragic incident that took place at the District 11-5A track meet on April 2 at Frisco ISD’s Kuykendall Stadium. UIL staff is in communication with district officials to provide support and assistance during this time. Our thoughts go out to those impacted.”
Frisco Police Department sent a press release:
"The Frisco Police Department grieves with all those affected by this devastating loss and extends its deepest condolences to the victim’s family, students, and staff who are experiencing unimaginable pain."
