Man Horrifically Opens Fire in Broad Daylight at Houston Galleria
Over the weekend a bloody and terrifying scene broke out in the middle of daylight right in front of the upscale Galleria Mall.
Just a month after one man was run over and killed inside the Galleria Mall parking garage, another disturbing event occurred.
POLICE DISPATCHED TO AN EMERGENCY
Around 6 pm Houston Police were dispatched to the Houston Galleria after an emergency call came in.
Police arrived on the scene and found a 28-year-old man who had been shot in the leg right outside of Shake Shack.
The most disturbing part of the shooting was it was in a heavy traffic area in broad daylight. A video was posted to Twitter showing the moment everything went down.
THE DISTURBING MOMENT
You can see a man in the parking area pull a large handgun out from his clothing.
Without a pause, the gunman points and shoots his weapon at another man.
The man is said to be in critical but stable conditions after being transported to a local nearby hospital.
MAYOR OF HOUSTON RESPONDS
Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner has responded to the violent and scary shooting. Turner is not playing around and is taking these violent crimes very seriously, working with the mall and local law enforcement to make the area safer.
BEEFING UP SECURITY
"We have beefed up, and we will continue to beef up," Turner said. "In addition to police presence, both uniform and ununiformed, there will be people in the Galleria area who will act like they are shopping. There will be people in public spaces that will not be in uniform."
DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT
Mayor Turner also gave a warning to criminals thinking about acting out in the area saying, "The Galleria, as we move forward, is probably the last place anyone would want to do anything illegal or engage in any criminal activities."
