Insane Viral Video Catches TX Inmate Escaping in Broad Daylight

A Killeen man was caught on video escaping from a jail transport van.

VIRAL TIKTOK CATCHES EVERYTHING

A TikTok video blew up after user @ caught the moment, 41-year-old Timothy Chapelle, busted out of a jail van. As the jail transport van was waiting at a red light in Tyler, Texas, Chapelle allegedly kicked out the window of the van.

RUNNING AWAY BARFOOT AND HANDCUFFED

Just moments later, a nearby witness began recording the escape just feet away. The now-viral video shows Chapelle escaping the van.

Barfoot and handcuffed, he is seen running through a plaza parking lot. The witnesses are heard yelling, some laughing, as they watched Chapelle escape.

STOPPING AT A FENCE

For a few moments, Chapelle runs away without any sign of law enforcement following behind.

Chapelle gets to a chain link fence where he can jump over and disappear before officers appear.

FINALLY CAPTURED BY OFFICERS

A separate video shows Chapelle in his bright orange jail outfit being tackled to the ground in front of a residential home. Officers were able to catch him and take him back into custody.

THE IRONIC TRANSPORTATION

Chapelle is also accused of breaking into two houses during his escape. Ironically Chapelle was being transported from a low-risk facility. 

His original charges were for criminal mischief, however, he now faces escape charges and burglary of a habitation. Chapelle is being held on more than a million dollar bond.
