The Trial Verdict and Sentencing

After reviewing the evidence, a Smith County jury sentenced Mitchell to life in prison in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.

This should be a lesson to criminals trafficking drugs: Texas imposes serious penalties. The sad reality is he will never be free again for trafficking drugs in Texas. Learn from his mistakes; anyone caught doing the same will face the same consequence.

No one wants to hear about drugs or drug trafficking going on in our communities. While it’s not always fun we appreciate the law enforcement officers and the jury members who took the time to seek justice in this case.
