As the tragic news of 11-year-old Jocelynn Rojo Carranza’s death spreads, countless questions remain unanswered.

Family, friends, and even strangers are grappling with the devastating loss of a young girl who faced relentless bullying because of her ethnicity. Jocelynn’s online obituary has become a testament to her impact, flooded with condolences from around the globe.

Jocelynn was a vibrant 11-year-old who loved to dance, sing, and keep up with the latest TikTok trends. Like many kids her age, she loved getting her nails done with her grandma and enjoyed movie nights with her family.

She was laid to rest on February 19, 2025, but her family is still seeking answers about the circumstances surrounding her tragic end. Investigators and the school district have yet to provide information on how the bullying escalated to such a tragic point, nor have they contacted her family with details.

The Impact of Bullying on Jocelynn’s Life

At school, Jocelynn faced torment about her ethnicity, with classmates threatening to call U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) on her and her family, instilling a constant fear of being left alone.

Jessi Noble, the mother of one of Jocelynn’s classmates, shared that her 11-year-old daughter began coming home in tears just weeks ago, talking about the fears she had for her Hispanic friends due to hurtful comments she overheard at school.

“People had been telling her friends, that were Hispanic, that they were getting deported, that ICE was coming for them,” Noble said. “And she was just terrified.”

How long will this family have to wait for answers and what type of justice, if any, will be served?
