6 Young Corpus Kids Found Malnourished and Alone
Six children in Corpus Christi, all under 10 years old, were found abandoned and malnourished inside a hot trailer home. The children were dirty, pampers were soiled, food was rotten, and there was not a single trace of adult supervision.'
BEGGING THEIR MOTHER TO COME HOME
The oldest, a 9-year-old girl, had been trying to get a hold of their mother, 27-year-old Nautica Dunning, for days. The child texted Dunning, begging her to come home because their 5-month-old sibling was out of formula.
Unable to contact her mother, the eldest called Lucas Loya, an inmate at the Nueces County Jail, to see if he could reach her mother. Loya is currently in jail because of crimes against the children's mother.
MALNOURISHED AND NEARLY UNCONSCIOUS
Police were called and discovered the children in physically bad conditions. Police report state, "One child was found on the sofa unconscious 'to the point it looked like she was not breathing,' two children were in soiled diapers, and another child seemed to be dehydrated."
DUNNING WAS POSTING ON SNAPCHAT
The oldest child told police she had not seen her mother after she left the home 5 days ago to "go make money." Police were unable to get ahold of the mother, but when Family Protective Service was called out Dunning was finally reached. Lucas Loya's family arrived at the children's residence and told police Dunning had been posting Snapchat photos from a local bar.
SHE CHANGED HER STORY
Dunning finally made her way home with her grandmother and claimed she had paid a family member to watch the kids. However, she later admitted, that she "willingly left her children by themselves."
Dunning was arrested with a bond set at $100,000. She is currently facing six counts of abandonment/endangering a child with criminal negligence.
