Medal of Honor Day And The Heroic Texans Who Earned Theirs
According to National Day Calendar, the Medal of Honor is recognized as the absolute highest award a member of the military can receive. This prestigious award can only be presented by the President of the United States.
Those members of our military risk their lives every day. Those who show valor and go above and beyond the call of duty are presented with the Medal of Honor as a way to honor their courageous acts that will forever be remembered, and citizens nationally will be grateful for.
I have a few members of my own family who have served in the military. They all have a character that shows off the type of bold and selfless person they really are. Today is a day to show your gratitude towards those you know who have served or may currently be serving. Be sure to drop a comment below and shoutout to someone you know who has served our country.
According to the Congressional Medal of Honor Society, there have been a total of 3,526 medals awarded. Many Texans have had the honor of receiving such a prestigious award.
