An Exciting Sneak Peek Inside Victoria’s Newest Ballet Academy

Pirouette over to Ballet Academy of South Texas this weekend to check out Victoria's newest dance studio. Director Brenda Serrata Tally has been teaching dance since 93. She has taught in gyms, studios and far and inbetween. Students will be in good hands as Brenda has her M.F.A. in dance performance from the University of Iowa and her B.F.A. in dance from the University of Utahas well as numerous specility certifications.

Thie Ballet Academy is inviting the community to come and check out the new studio and meet the talented staff who will be teaching amazing classes. The beautiful downtown building has multiple studios where instructors will be teaching a wide variety of dance classes.

What Classes Will Be Offered

Of course, ballet and tap will be taught. There are also jazz classes, modern dance, and theatre jazz; perfect for those involved in theatrical productions. There will be a Spring recital students will participate in.

There will also be a lunchtime ballet class for adults. This is perfect for working adults who want to get a quick workout in during their lunch break. This class is a great workout and helps build core strength, flexibility, very similar to pilates. This class will also be offered through zoom which adds a whole other level of convenience.

What Age Is Dance Good For?

Dance is for everybody. Ballet Academy of South Texas has classes for kids as young as 2 years old and adult classes for any age. There will be a mommy and me class for the youngest of dances and adult classes for adults of any age and skill level.

The best part about this dance studio is the inclusiveness. One of Brenda's goals for her studio is "creating a space of inclusiveness where anyone can come in and find joy in dance at whatever level, whether that be for fun or to pursue a professional level of dance."

Soft Opening and Grand Opening Dates

There will be a soft opening Saturday, December 18th. You can stop by from 9 am till 8 pm to meet the talented crew at Ballet Academy of South Texas. The building will still be going through renovations but you can get a sneak peek, learn about their classes, and even register for Spring. The Grand Opening will officially be on January 3rd.

Unique Experience at This Academy

Brenda saw a need for a legit pointe shoe fitter so she decided it was time the Crossroads got their own. A pointe shoe fitter will be at the soft opening and can do shoe fittings; with an appointment. You can also check out some of the dress code items they will have on display.
