Victoria teachers are getting a special thank-you this weekend at The Texas Zoo.
On February 21, the Texas Zoo is hosting its very first Teacher Open House, welcoming public and private school teachers, as well as college professors, for a full day of free admission and behind-the-scenes learning.
On Saturday, February 21st, from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm, the Texas Zoo in Victoria, Texas, will have a Teachers Open House. Teachers will get free admission into the zoo, and if they choose to bring family members, free admission will also be extended to them as well.

Here’s How It Works

Teachers who attend the open house this Saturday must bring their teaching identification. Once the teacher shows their ID, they will be allowed in, free of charge. Family members will also be let in at the same time with the identified teacher.
The Texas Zoo will also honor homeschool teachers and ask those teachers to please call ahead and check in with the zoo ahead of time.
An Opportunity for Educators to Learn About The Texas Zoo Programs
Teachers can enjoy the zoo and will have the opportunity to talk with staff members about educational opportunities. The zoo offers educational and outreach programs that educators may want to utilize.
This is a great way for teachers can learn more about ways the Texas Zoo can be part of their resources for teaching.
“Please come join us as we increase our educational opportunities at the Texas Zoo. Rain or shine, the staff and animals are waiting for you !”
