We all complain about lousy drivers here in Victoria. Whether its drivers that are careless, drivers that speed, drivers that go too slow, there's always something to complain about. Well, according to a study by Auto Insurance.org, the Lone Star state is near the bottom of the Best Drivers in America.

Analyzing data from the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration, the site compared statistics including DWI numbers, various traffic citations, traffic fatalities, and other stats, to come up with the list.

What's the bottom line? Here's how we rank.

Careless Driving: 44

Drunk Driving: 42

Failure to Obey: 30

Speeding: 33

Final Rank: 4

So, where are the best and worst drivers in the U.S.?  Minnesota, Massachusetts and Rhode Island were ranked as the top 3 best drivers in the nation, while South Carolina, New Mexico, and Alabama were ranked 51, 50 and 49 respectively. One surprise, at least to me, was that New York and New Jersey were ranked 6th and 7th best because when I lived there, the main driving rule was "count three and go!"
