Teen Student Sexually Assaulted in Motel By a Texas Teacher
A San Antonio teacher has been removed from school and charged with two second-degree felonies after serious allegations have come up.
ASSAULT OF A STUDENT OFF-CAMPUS
49-year-old Jae Casey Steuart, a teacher at MacArthur High School, has allegedly been involved with one of her minor students. According to a 16-year-old student, Steuart sexually assaulted him off-campus.
HOW IT BEGAN
According to SAPD, on December 6, Steuart began leaving handwritten messages for the student. In one of the messages, Steuart gave the student her cellphone number, and communication between the two quickly escalated.
HOW IT ESCALATED
In one of their text message exchanges, the two planned to meet up outside of school. As planned, Steuart drove to the teen's apartment, picked him up, and took off. The two drove to a motel near her home and Steuart purchased a room.
According to SAPD, the pair went into the room, and "Steuart sexually assaulted the teen."
After the incident, a friend of the teen came to the motel and picked him up. The very next day the student reported the incident to school officials, and SAPD was quickly contacted.
Jae Casey Steuart was picked up and taken to Bexar County Jail where she was charged with sexual assault of a child and improper relationship between an educator and a student (both second-degree felonies.)
SAPD is currently investigating the incident. It is not yet known if there are other victims, however, officials are urging any victims to come forward by contacting SAPD’s Special Victims Unit, or by telling a trusted adult.
