The carnival lights are back on, and if you’re planning a night out, here’s what you need to know before you go.

I walked around the carnival for prices so you don't have to.

Each ride ranges from 4 to 5 tickets. The smaller children’s rides up front are typically 4 tickets, while the bigger, more adventurous rides toward the back usually cost 5. Tickets are $1 each, and if you plan on riding a lot, wristbands are available for $30.
If motion sickness has you in a chokehold, don’t worry. There are plenty of games scattered throughout the midway. Just a heads up, though, $5 games are basically extinct. Most, if not all, start at $10 per game now. It adds up fast, so come prepared.
Walking around, there’s a lot to see and do.
The food smells alone will pull you in from across the fairgrounds. And honestly, half the entertainment is just interacting with the carnival workers. They are loud, funny, and fully committed to the bit. One of the funniest moments of the night was overhearing a worker yell to a guy walking by with his date, “Get lucky here, get lucky later.” I can’t make this stuff up.
Carnival hours run from February 23 through February 27 from 5 p.m. until closing. On February 28 and March 1, gates open at noon until closing.
The Livestock Show begins February 26, 2025. Admission will be charged February 26 through March 1 and costs $5 per person. Kids 5 and under and adults 65 and older get in free.
