25 Pounds of Meth Found in Traffic Stop Near San Antonio
A traffic stop in Bexar County spirales into a massice drug bust after a driver admitted to having “some kind of drugs” in his vehicle, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Anti-gang troopers initiated the stop in the San Antonio area and questioned the driver, who became nervous and made the confession . A DPS K-9 unit was requested to search the vehicle, and what they found was far beyond “some kind.”
Investigators uncovered 25 pounds of methamphetamine hidden inside the vehicle. DPS says the quantity strongly suggests the drugs were intended for distribution, not personal use.
The driver, who has not yet been publicly identified, was arrested at the scene. DPS reports he has “multiple prior deportations,” although officials have not confirmed whether he was in the country legally at the time of the stop. The agency also did not specify exactly when the traffic stop occurred, citing the ongoing investigation.
The suspect now faces a felony charge of manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance, a serious offense that can result in lengthy prison time under Texas law.
Although 25 pounds of methamphetamine is an insane amount of drugs, there are a few drugs bust that are even more shocking.
