Authorities in Port Lavaca are thankful a Saturday evening shooting did not result in serious injuries.

The Port Lavaca Wave shared the story of the shooting over the weekend that resulted in one injury that was not serious.

Police Chief Colin Rangnow says both customers and employees of the McDonalds were all 'pretty lucky' as a shooting injured one person who had a bullet graze their chest and actually get wrapped up in the person's clothing. This was obviously a very close call that could have ended tragically.

The restaurant basically went into shutdown mode according to Chief Rangnow. The shooting occurred after what was described as an ongoing argument between a McDonald's employee and several people who showed up to confront the person. A shot was fired at the employee as the group headed away from the restaurant.

Chief Rangnow says Port Lavaca police are still investigating. One arrest for someone messing with physical evidence was made while the police were conducting interviews after the incident. No names have been released up until now as this investigation is still ongoing.
