The softball community is more than just a network of teams: it’s a family. And right now, that family is hurting. A tragic car accident has left Mila, a young softball player, and her father fighting for their lives.

On the way home from a softball tournament in Dallas, the Munive family was involved in a horrific wrong-way crash on I-45 in Houston. A red Ford F-150, driving in the wrong direction, collided head-on with their Mitsubishi Outlander and the impact was devastating.

Mila’s mother and 9-year-old brother did not survive. Mila and her father were rushed to the hospital in critical condition. Two others, including a pregnant woman, were also hospitalized. The at-fault driver, who remains in the ICU, is under investigation for possible intoxication.

This tragedy is sending shockwaves through the softball world. But if there’s one thing we know about this sport, it’s that the bonds extend far beyond the field. Hotshots 2K15, Mila’s team, has rallied an outpouring of support, launching a GoFundMe to assist the family in this unimaginable time.

From travel ball teams to local leagues, the softball community is stepping up. Players, parents, and coaches nationwide are spreading the word, donating, and offering prayers. Because in softball, no one fights alone.

How You Can Help

The Munive family needs all the support they can get, whether it’s a donation, a share, or simply sending thoughts their way. If you’d like to contribute, you can donate to their GoFundMe HERE.
