Ken Paxton’s Wife Files for Divorce After Alleged Affair
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is once again making headlines—and this time, it’s not about an indictment or impeachment. His wife, Texas State Senator Angela Paxton, has filed for divorce, citing adultery in court documents filed in Collin County.
Angela, who represents a district north of Dallas, posted a statement on X saying she had tried to reconcile but could no longer stay in the marriage “in light of recent discoveries.” The two have reportedly lived apart since June 2024.
“I believe marriage is a sacred covenant and I have earnestly pursued reconciliation,” she wrote on X on July 10. “But in light of recent discoveries, I do not believe that it honors God or is loving to myself, my children, or Ken to remain in the marriage.”
Ken Paxton, a key figure in Texas Republican politics and a close ally of Donald Trump, responded by blaming “political attacks and public scrutiny” for the divorce. He did not address the adultery allegation."I could not be any more proud or grateful for the incredible family that God has blessed us with, and I remain committed to supporting our amazing children and grandchildren," he wrote on X.
This isn’t the first time Paxton’s personal life has collided with his political one. In 2023, he was impeached by the Texas House over bribery allegations, and testimony during his trial centered on his alleged extramarital affair. He was ultimately acquitted by the state Senate, where Angela recused herself from voting.
Now, as he eyes a 2026 U.S. Senate run, the timing couldn’t be worse. This public fallout between two major Texas conservatives could send shockwaves through the GOP and reignite questions about Paxton’s character and credibility.
