In Victoria County, Precinct 1 employees showed up ready to get work done, only to discover that county equipment had been vandalized. And let’s be clear, this isn’t harmless mischief.
This is damage that now costs taxpayers money, slows down projects everyone relies on, and forces workers to deal with dangerous conditions that shouldn’t exist in the first place.
So if anyone saw anything sketchy this weekend, please call the Victoria County Sheriff’s Office at 361-575-0651. Seriously. It takes five seconds to do the right thing.
Vandalism is in the air.

Victoria’s not the only one being targeted by vandals. Last week, Port Lavaca got hit, too.

Two handmade picnic tables, built in memory of loved ones, were yanked from their place on the Bayfront and tossed into the water like junk. These tables were crafted by Mr. Ken Reese and Rhonda Braun specifically to honor their families and the years they spent enjoying that very spot.
Residents were understandably furious. Comment sections exploded with disappointment and confusion that anyone would disrespect something so personal and meaningful.
Thankfully, a hero stepped in. City worker Al Alborro went above and beyond to help out. He brought out an excavator and spent his Saturday helping pull those tables back out of the bay.
When you destroy something built out of love , you’re not just breaking property, you’re punching people right in the gut. If you know anything about either incident, speak up. We’d all like to get back to weekends that don’t involve dragging memorials out of the water.
