Texas Cities Predicted To Be Hit Hardest By Winter Storm
A winter storm is brewing in Texas. Waking up to 30° weather was not on my Bingo card this year but, here we are. The real question is: how long is this going to be a 'thing' and how many degrees lower will it get?
Which part of Texas is going to be the most miserable?
Count your blessings if you're in South Texas; however, if you're in North Texas, you might want to take heed. The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning until Friday at 12:00 PM CST.
Within that timeframe, ice and sleet are expected, along with snow- up to 4 inches. These conditions can create very dangerous and hazardous driving situations. Those who are traveling Thursday evening and Friday morning should do so with extreme caution.
3 areas in Texas that are expected to be hit the hardest
Dallas is already covered in snow and will continue to encounter a chilly week. The high for the week will be around 36°F and a low near 32°F.
However, Dallas is not the only Texas city that is experiencing the effects of the winter storm. There is even more snow anticipated to fall in Texas towns near the Oklahoma border.
Another area of Texas expected to be hit hard by the winter storm is the Texas Panhandle. The region is set to have up to 5 inches of snowfall. Areas in Castro, Swisher, Lamb, and Hale counties will likely be hit the hardest, according to Newsweek.
