Pitching was the key for the Victoria Generals, who edged the Acadiana Cane Cutters 2-1 yesterday.

Stuart Springer notched the victory, going 6 full innings, while Brett Burrington wrapped up the game in the final 3. Springer threw 5 shutout innings giving up just 3 hits, but in the 6th, it was errors that allowed the Cane Cutters their only run.

The Generals come home Tuesday (6/9) to kick off a 4-game stand against the East Texas Pump Jacks. It's also Free Ticket Tuesday, presented by Ashley Furniture HomeStore. The first 300 through the gates will receive a Generals t-shirt complements of Ashley Furniture HomeStore. Clay Crockett and the ShotGun Riders will be on hand for a pregame performance starting at 6:00pm.
