Texas Serial Killer Is Finally Getting Executed 30+ Years Later
A savage Texas serial killer is set to be executed this week after murdering five people, including 2 teenage twin sisters.
White admitted to the murders, however, his team is fighting to stall his execution set this week. They believe his mental deficiencies and chronic use of crack cocaine were the main cause of these horrific crimes.
"Five people murdered, in three separate transactions, including two teenage girls, is simply too much carnage to ignore and is the type of case for which the death penalty is appropriate," Harris County prosecutor Josh Reiss expressed.
5 MURDERS ACROSS 6 YEARS
Garcia Glen White was convicted of murdering Annette and Bernette Edwards. He confessed to killing five people in total across three separate incidents between 1989 and 1995. The victims included:
- Greta Williams in 1989
- The Edwards family (Annette, Bernette, and Bonita) about a month later
- Hai Pham in 1995
White was only prosecuted for the Edwards murders due to overwhelming DNA evidence linking him to the crime.
The Edwards murders occurred during a fight that broke out while White and Bonita Edwards were using drugs. White admitted to stabbing Bonita and her two daughters.
"She reached for a knife, and I took the knife and stabbed her," he said, according to court records. "Some kids come out. I went into the bedroom after them. ... I stabbed one in the bedroom and one in the living room."
Court records also reveal more disturbing details of the crime, indicating sexual assault. White's DNA was a 99% match to semen discovered on Bernette, who had a pink shirt wrapped around the back of her neck and through her mouth as a gag.
